Thank you for Supporting My American Dream!

Transcript
Keith Liberty:

The Lael Proud American event season is in full swing. Crazy deadlines, many miles, long hours, little sleep, massive amounts of accounting acrobatics and risk analysis. Chasing a dream reveals a lot about who you are, but more importantly, it reveals a lot about who you have around you. Let me tell you something Everybody struggles. The difference is some people choose to go through it and some choose to grow through it. The choice is completely yours. Which one you choose will have a very profound effect on the way you live your life. If you find strength in the struggle, then this podcast is for you. You have a relationship that is comfortable with uncomfortable conversations. Uncomfortable conversations challenge you, humble you and they build you. When you sprinkle a little time and distance on it, it all makes sense. Most disagreements they stem from our own insecurities. You are right where you need to be.

Alli Liberty:

That's the way you should be.

Keith Liberty:

Ooh, ooh, ooh. What it do, what it do. How damn am I so damn happy to be back with you. Episode 155. We still alive, baby. We still alive and kicking. 155 consecutive episodes, consecutive weeks. You and me, that loud, proud American podcast properly, beautifully, precisely named, share the struggle, because we all struggle y'all. Every freaking one of us has a struggle. Every one of us has a story. The more we share our struggle, the more that we share our story, the more strength is to be built. You hear me, we all have something We can all share something. I encourage each and every one of you to share who you are, what the people around you. Expose yourself to people that you don't know. Well, i mean, that sounded strange. When I said expose yourself, i didn't mean like, like, you're meeting potatoes, you know you're meeting two veg. I wasn't talking about the. You know the taco Tuesday. No, no, no, not that kind of expose America. There's enough freaks out there showing off the meats and golden wedding tackles and stuff, you know. No, you save your tackle box, okay. You cover it up, okay. Cover up your yaya, all right. That's not what I meant. I didn't mean to get out there and get naked. I mean get vulnerable, get naked with your feelings. Okay, expose yourself, as I did it again. Expose your story, yeah, your feelings and stuff to people. Man, train wreck, i'm an idiot. Oh well, this might take us right off the fricking rails. I apologize. I was trying to encourage each and every one of you to share what the fuck it is that you are going through, what it is that you've been through, what you've grown through, because I have heard from so many of you over the past few weeks, with some unbelievable stories, some stories that I did not even imagine, some factoids about all you beautiful, loud-powered Americans out there that I did not know about. Y'all, and I'm proud of you. There's so many of you listening right now that have shared some things with me over the past few weeks and I want to tell you I'm proud of you, and for those of you that are listening right now that have not shared any of those things, it's okay, baby, i'm proud of you too, but I encourage you to share what it is that makes you who you are, and if any of you want to get on the show and share some of those things that you know can help somebody else grow, i'd love to have you on here. That's what's special about this show is that you don't need to be rich and famous. You don't need to be glamorous. Glamorous, no, you don't. You seem to be human and transparent, and I have a willingness to share who it is that you are and what it is that makes you you, because if you have the courage to do that, you have the ability to change something for someone You understand. There's strength in all of our stories. There is growth that comes from all of our struggles, and the more of us that are willing to share those stories and struggles, the better. We are all for it. I cannot tell you, guys, enough how much it means to me to hear from each and every one of you. It blows me away to have some of you reach out and say these positive things that this podcast, that this show, that these messages have helped you grow, that they've provided some sense of light to you, they've provided some sense of right to you, that you feel all right, that you feel a connection, a bond, that we share some things, and that is why we do this show and that's why we're sitting here at episode 150, freakin' Five. I didn't really think this was possible back in 2020, when we're in the middle of a pandemic and I took a microphone out and pushed record. I did not think we were going to touch as many people as we have, but I'm so damn blessed and thankful that we have, and I encourage each and every one of you to share your story, even if you don't have a podcast, even if you don't want to be on this podcast. You're hiding some things. You're holding some things that can make some difference. All of us have the ability to make a difference and I encourage each and every one of you to use your ability to make that difference to be that difference. If you're interested in using this platform to share your story, you can find me at wwwsharethestruckupodcastcom. I send in a form there to be on the show or shoot me a message You already know. And while you're there at wwwsharethestruckupodcastcom, feel free to leave a review, say how do you do? hit, subscribe, grow the tribe. Let's build this show, baby. Let's make it blossom. Let's make it grow. I hope you all enjoyed last week's episode on the power of perspective. How we perceive things to be is always the truth for you and me. I'm still feeling so damn strong and confident about last week's show. I said I'll let you know. I've heard from quite a few of you last week and I want to say thank you for that. It's so true, man How we perceive things to be shall be. Our perception on things is reality. If we change the way we look at things, reframe our mind a little bit, we can surprise ourselves with what we can overcome, what we can believe in, what we can achieve. So, speaking of believing in achievement this week, i want to peel back the curtain a little bit, a little peek beneath the sheets. We're going to peel back a layer of the onion and we're going to go on road. The loud, proud American event season really being in full swing, i'm going to share with you what it's like on the road. I'm going to share a few stories that maybe shouldn't be told. Okay, that was lame. Oh God, i'm an idiot. The point I'm trying to make here is this shit is hard America. It's a freaking struggle, baby, and the name of the show is called the struggle. So I mean it just makes too much sense. It's too sensical America. Yeah, it's too sensical. I know that's a fake word, but I learned that in a maybe a Will Ferrell comedy bit about George Bush or something I don't know. Clearly I've had too much fucking caffeine. But what I'm trying to tell y'all is we're going to take a little peek into the struggle of being on the road, and I'm saying this to also showcase the shine of light on the people that are around me, the people that support me, the people that surprise me with their just undivided support and belief in me and the brand, and how surprising it can be when strangers stand up for me and my wife. All that on tap today on Share This Struggle Podcast, episode 155. Go check. Alright, alright, alright. Now let's get on to the task at hand with a master plan. I couldn't properly paint a picture without my main squeeze and my potna and crime, my wife Boo. There she is.

Alli Liberty:

That's me.

Keith Liberty:

The Rundle mating call for the three people from Rundle that might listen to the show that know what that was all about. Welcome to the show. Boo boo.

Alli Liberty:

If you don't know it, you do now And I expect any time you see us. I want to hear it Because we will hear that from a mile away.

Keith Liberty:

Well see, the thing is is once the actual sound gets out, it doesn't have its effect anymore, because there's only a select people that actually know what it is. And here you are releasing the. It's like releasing the Colonel's secret recipe.

Alli Liberty:

The KFC. We released that at Bentley Saloon and everybody hears it.

Keith Liberty:

Right, but they don't know what it's about. Now they know what it's about.

Alli Liberty:

Not everyone.

Keith Liberty:

You've ruined the chicken recipe.

Alli Liberty:

No one will do it, i'll put money on it.

Keith Liberty:

All right. Well, while you're paying debts over there and handing out bets, I'm here to record a show with you today. So thank you for joining Shadows Fargo Podcast today, episode 155. You ready for this.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, thanks for having me. I don't think you have much of a choice.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, true story. So while you're here, i'm going to fill you in as a wayer We are headed and how we started the show, because I want to paint a picture for everybody. I want to peel back the curtain a little bit, a little peek beneath the sheets to let everybody know what's going on with Loud Proud American and just how insane and crazy our schedule is And really some of the effort that it takes to actually get this brand off the ground. We are in our third year here. This is our third year around the sun, around the world here doing our Loud Proud American tour. I think we're getting better at things, We're getting more efficient at things, but it's an absolute struggle And I want to just kind of give people a little preview, a little better understanding as to our season now that it's here, now that things are becoming very, very clear. You with me, i'm here, all right. So the last time we were talking about Loud Proud American and the events and our schedule and all things were going, we were just wrapping up Bike Week at Bentley Saloon. We had the amazing opportunity I was able to open for close and DJ alongside Kendall Tucker, natural recording artist, all the way up here from Cala Florida. We spent the day with Steve Wallace primarily. You hung out with Steve for really most of the day, right.

Alli Liberty:

That was a good time. Yeah, that was a really good time.

Keith Liberty:

We made some good impressions, made some good friendships and connections. We spent, i want to say, a total of 11 days in the parking lot at the saloon And I mentioned last week that I was having a hard time walking And I think I did the math on it, it was about 46 hours and three days at the saloon. So it was a real struggle. It was a struggle, sesh, but on that Sunday night we packed up, came home and then it was about really just changing our direction and changing our plan, because we were getting ready to go off to our next road trip And on the way to the road trip and one day before that road trip, we had the pleasure of marrying two good friends of ours. So you accompanied me to the beach on Thursday together. We actually, you know, with your support, your loving guidance and looking me in the eyes while I was knocking, the ceremony being that.

Alli Liberty:

Was it intimidating.

Keith Liberty:

Maybe a little bit. I mean, i was kind of looking directly into the sun when I looked over there, so I was like man, my baby's bright, i don't know what to say Oh, you thought I was bright, yeah, So unlike my future. I'm going to kick your ass.

Alli Liberty:

So I felt like you were talking to me, talking to him right to my soul. So it was very nice.

Keith Liberty:

Well, I put some lines in there that I thought maybe you would pick up on.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, I did.

Keith Liberty:

Some advice that that you've shared work this way into those vows and advice and wedding message. So it's really a blessing and it's rather fulfilling to be able to connect to people to tie the knot for two friends. So it's such a special moment And before we get rocking a roll on the rest of today's show, i really just want to say congratulations to Meredith and Eric Critchrono. Thank you for so much for including me in your special day. It was truly an honor and a privilege And I feel pretty damn great about it. So Thursday after the ceremony we come back to the house and finish packing up. We'll allow proud American Express that 94 of a ambulance And I must say we stuffed that girl.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, right to the brim.

Keith Liberty:

I thought that we were like oh, we're going to pack light because we're only going to be gone for a couple of days. It got aggressive in there.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah.

Keith Liberty:

But I think one of the reasons for that is this is the only trip of the entire year that we still sleep in the ambulance.

Alli Liberty:

And you have to bring your DJ equipment too.

Keith Liberty:

That's true too. I have to DJ up there, so so we bring the DJ equipment, which it's kind of funny how that worked out, because the first time we went to this event actually was post COVID. And they had to cancel for COVID, like everything else in the country, and I knew that they always had live entertainment and we saw on the schedule they didn't have any. So we just put our DJ gear in the truck just because we were going to kind of offer it up.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, we went out on a whim.

Keith Liberty:

That's right, and I ended up working out because we DJed that night. Everybody loved it, and then, since then, jamie has asked me to DJ every year, this being our third year, so the event that we were headed to was the Haley Lynn Cummings Memorial Barrel Race. Yep Silver Spur Arena, riding arena, riding club, whatever you call it. Was it club, arena Club? Okay, i don't know where I got arena from.

Alli Liberty:

Well, it is an arena.

Keith Liberty:

That makes sense. So it's all coming together. So Silver Spur Riding Club, we were there in. what is that? Sydney, which?

Alli Liberty:

is Sydney.

Keith Liberty:

Maine, just outside of Augusta, so a little over an hour or so away for us, right.

Alli Liberty:

An hour and 15 minutes. That's what it is Good call.

Keith Liberty:

Proud of you for knowing that That was a quiz. Not really, but she nailed it anyways. So thanks. We packed everything up, get our DJ gear in there and then enough stuff to run our display for the weekend, And then we're going to double down and stay in the ambulance for the weekend, which, whenever we do this coming out of this weekend, it makes me feel so thankful for the fact that you decided to pick up a camper last year.

Alli Liberty:

You ain't kidding That. sleeping in the ambulance miserable. I never want to sleep in there again.

Keith Liberty:

That's tough To think about the fact that for the first year in business, we spent every night in there on the road.

Alli Liberty:

Ugh the misery.

Keith Liberty:

Dude, it was brutal, and so this is such a satisfying moment right now to have this discussion and realize that the brand is not growing as fast as we would like it to, but it's growing at the rate it's supposed to, because, if you think about it, our first year on the road we were sleeping in an ambulance.

Alli Liberty:

Now, for not just a couple of days, not just a weekend weeks.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, we got accustomed to traveling around the state of Maine And if we were doing fares that were 10, 11 days, we stayed in the ambulance. We don't have running water. We don't have a bathroom scenario. I literally put a porta-potty up, so we had a scenario and we would go to some places. You could pay for a shower, But a lot of these fares and stuff. They just provide a wash house.

Alli Liberty:

And they are gross.

Keith Liberty:

We've cleaned up in some sketchy scenarios.

Alli Liberty:

They are gross. Well, you have to think These carnies are on the road and if they have the chance to wash their nuts, they may, or may not.

Keith Liberty:

They may or may not.

Alli Liberty:

They may or may not, or they're just fucking in them.

Keith Liberty:

OK, we went there. That's another. I didn't know we were going there, but I'm just saying You went from dirty nuts to busted nuts. Yeah And yeah.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, man, i don't.

Keith Liberty:

Doesn't make me want to use that shower next week, good Lord, because we're going to another fair and I usually use. I mean. well, the last time we were there we used the shower and somebody threw up outside of the shower stall.

Alli Liberty:

We didn't notice till afterwards. Oh my God. I feel dirty again I almost stepped in it and then I almost dropped my towel in it and I almost slipped in it naked.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, oh God, it's sketchy, it's yeah.

Alli Liberty:

And you wear flip flops like you're in prison.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, you have to wear, you gotta have your shower flips like like prison flips.

Alli Liberty:

The one that we went to was a free shower, so God only knows what you find in there. The homeless come out of the woodworks.

Keith Liberty:

What I will say too, is I did read that they actually renovated their showers.

Alli Liberty:

Oh, finally, that's good, that whole area Oh good, got a renovation. Good for them.

Keith Liberty:

Looking forward to that.

Alli Liberty:

But the point is We do have a shower in our camper in case anyone was wondering We do have a toilet and running water.

Keith Liberty:

The, and we yeah, we have all that, all the amenities now. It's just if there's a shower stall situation that we can actually use. I'd rather not fill our tank up when we're on the road.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, just kind of washing dishes and flushing the toilet kind of thing.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, exactly.

Alli Liberty:

Rule number one of the camper we do not shit in the camper.

Keith Liberty:

You know, what's funny Is here I am for some reason censoring myself today. I said poo, you said shit. you were the first one to say fuck. I mean, what has happened? I'm starting to think maybe I get my hostility from you Probably.

Alli Liberty:

Good.

Keith Liberty:

Lord, we're gonna dial you down a little.

Alli Liberty:

You are running on 10. Stay tuned, we'll get into that.

Keith Liberty:

Good Lord. So the pit bulls with me today and the bulldogs are sleeping, So, anyways, it's a real feather in the cap, so to speak, to think about the fact that we do travel in luxury. now It's nice to start the year off staying in the ambulance because you set yourself up, for no matter how miserable it is towing the camper or setting it up, you're still like motherfucker. this is pretty nice.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, because you're not sleeping on an air mattress that you have to blow up every hour.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, i was gonna say that, but my mind's all getting through, no.

Alli Liberty:

Measurable.

Keith Liberty:

We'll hit some of the misery on this and then we'll highlight the positivity on this event. So, first off, we left on Friday. It's smoldering hot. The old 94 doesn't have air conditioning, so we're going down the interstate with the windows open Like Ace Ventura. Yeah, yeah, head out, just getting after it. Speakers work on one side of the ambulance your side, and then out back. I can turn the speakers on and the cab out back, but you can't hear them. So and every time you shut the ambulance off you have to turn the power off or the battery won't restart. So every time you do that you lose the fucking radio station on the clock, so you gotta start all over again. So just some of the fun wonderment of traveling around in the 94 Wambie. But she's got something special about her that I just can't let her to rest.

Alli Liberty:

We usually use a wireless Marshall to tune in the radio, because that's louder and we both can hear it.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, so it's. There's a special quality, a certain Genèse Quoi? So we get there. We set up, this being our third year. We have our patented spot now, which is great, we roll in and Jamie goes.

Alli Liberty:

you know the usual.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, there's your setup, get after it.

Alli Liberty:

So wherever you want.

Keith Liberty:

The interesting thing is little fun fact, zero fucking shade where we set up.

Alli Liberty:

None.

Keith Liberty:

There is not a tree as far as the eye can see in that scenario, correct. We have a great view of the arena to see the entire event, which is primo and we greatly appreciate. But, boy, she gets steamy where we at. I always leave there with a rage and sunburn.

Alli Liberty:

Right on the third barrel. Yeah, is where we're our view of it. That's up on third baby.

Keith Liberty:

But I'm telling you, she gets hot, so setting that thing up here's one of the defaults of putting up a tent For us to put up our tent, we have to put all the walls on and lock in all the walls before I can stake the tent down or you can't close the doors.

Alli Liberty:

Mind you, he already said that it was smoldering hot, so now think about a black tent stuck inside with the doors on.

Keith Liberty:

All of them close about 85 degree. Ambient outside temp, internal temp about a buck 25.

Alli Liberty:

I'm sweating in places. I shouldn't be sweating.

Keith Liberty:

I'm just gonna tell you this Mustache sweat is a different level of sweat, and I'm serious When the follicles on your face, your face follicles, perspire, when they just put out sweat. It's a different level, y'all.

Alli Liberty:

My big toe is sweating. Oh yeah, thinking about it.

Keith Liberty:

It's aggressive. So we got everything set up, The skittin' thing's kinda loaded down and locked in and ready to rock and roll. We had a lovely dinner little pig roast.

Alli Liberty:

We did. It was delicious actually.

Keith Liberty:

So Friday was great, great event. Everything we love about the event, all those good things Getting to see some of the people we haven't seen in a year all that good stuff. But our first night is sleepin' Not the best.

Alli Liberty:

No, i do have a question though.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, talk to me.

Alli Liberty:

So like, if you have a camper, okay, or a tent situation. I'm asking the listeners not you?

Keith Liberty:

Oh, okay, you don't want me to answer that.

Alli Liberty:

No, when we get somewhere, it's usually my duty to make sure that the camper or the living quarters are set up. Is that the arrangement for other people? I'm curious Like I get there, like Friday, you're setting up the grid wall, putting up last minute things. I'm making sure that the air mattress is set up and the bed's made and that sort of thing. And then when we get to the camper, you're outside setting up the poop pipe, the water, like setting up the awning, that sort of thing, and I'm inside making sure, again, the bed's made, the toiletries are out. Like I'm curious, like is that? like, do y'all have like set tasks?

Keith Liberty:

Questions about their routine, their tasks?

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, yeah, to make sure that everything's like Quite possibly That's a good question.

Keith Liberty:

Good to go, i'm curious, good question. So Friday night I'll say before we get into how uncomfortable our sleeping arrangement was. I just thought of this because we went down and checked out the band beforehand. And I was really encouraged by how many people came up to us and were like are you kidding me? You're not DJing.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, why are you not DJing? Yeah, like they were looking forward to it. Well, because last year we were Friday night when we first got there, which was a lot. It's a lot, It was a lot.

Keith Liberty:

So I actually really enjoyed DJing on Saturday night and not Friday and. Saturday or just Friday because of the fact that we arrived, we're setting up, you're trying to get things going And then, basically, we would open the door, close the door, then go set up for DJing.

Alli Liberty:

It's a lot on day one, so I was happy You had time to prepare for it.

Keith Liberty:

It was much easier just going on Saturday, but I felt great that everybody was like man we're looking forward to you So because a lot of places you go into at first you're not really welcomed as a DJ. It takes an hour or two before they're like I fucking like this guy. So to just be there drinking and have people come up and be like, hey man, i'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, that was fun Like.

Alli Liberty:

I enjoyed that And it also helps that we've done it. For what? four years in a row, three years in a row, you've kind of formed relationships and it's the same people that come back, and then there's new faces too. So those people seeing us again and seeing our stuff out, that was really nice. You always feel welcome every time you go there.

Keith Liberty:

Also. I mean I've gotten requested to DJ three weddings from that place, just from being there. Scheduling wise, I've only lined up on one of them, which actually comes up in a few weeks. We're gonna be going to RoxyMame, which I've never been. It's a fuck up a ways away from here.

Alli Liberty:

I'm so mad because I'm gonna miss the Moxie Festival for that.

Keith Liberty:

So you're actually gonna miss Jelly Roll for that, because Jelly Roll's in Bangor.

Alli Liberty:

Even worse.

Keith Liberty:

Jacob and Mikaela. we're gonna be doing their wedding, So we met them.

Alli Liberty:

I'm sure they're lovely.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, I've talked to them. they're great And Jacob was best man's actually the one that I would know more from being at the event. He's always playing corn hall and all that good stuff. And then, actually today or last night, i should say I didn't see the message until today. Somebody else sent me a message and said do you DJ weddings? So what?

Alli Liberty:

You didn't tell me that That's exciting. I know, yeah, that's awesome.

Keith Liberty:

Pretty cool that you know that crowd really just appreciates us. So excited about that. But our first night in sleep bit of a challenge.

Alli Liberty:

Terrible. Also. I just wanna tune in really quick In case any of these listened to the last couple of episodes. The bluebird just flew by the window as we are sitting here recording. So, hey, mame, how's it going? Nice to see you.

Keith Liberty:

I got you. I was trying to understand what you were waving on over there.

Alli Liberty:

The bluebird.

Keith Liberty:

And now that I see you getting emotional, I understand the reason She's here. Anyway, I do guess Our first night's sleep, the issue we ran into. We fell asleep. I mean number one. We were at in our location over there. We blow the doors open let some air in and we run a big ass pink box fan in the back to circulate some air flow Like a standard box fan. Yeah so we fell asleep. Things were good, we're good. We were watching Live PD or OP Live, whatever it's called now on the cell phone. Right, we were just peaceful, peaceful little doves, you and me right, yeah, listening to the crickets. Until I woke up about an hour and a half later with my left leg completely numb.

Alli Liberty:

Can we just paint a scenario here for you for just a quick minute? So the ambulance there is two large totes on the floor and three, actually Three large totes, extra large totes on the ground, with a piece of plywood on top of it, going across the bench seat to make this platform for us to then have the air mattress on top of that.

Keith Liberty:

So through the course of the years we are, I think, on our fourth air mattress we finally found one that we like. It's a queen mattress, You don't have to plug it in because, we have the batteries in there, but it's industrial, nice, it's been good to us.

Alli Liberty:

And then we have that memory foam topper and keeps the temperature right.

Keith Liberty:

So it's been good to us.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, it's been good.

Keith Liberty:

Until she went straight taco mode on Friday night.

Alli Liberty:

Taco mode straight flat, tortilla flat. Oh my God, are you kidding me?

Keith Liberty:

So the air mattress about? I mean she's flat, i can't feel my legs. We are on plywood at this point sleeping. It is not forgiving.

Alli Liberty:

No.

Keith Liberty:

I'm gonna get outside, i'm blowing the air mattress up, i come back inside and you're like it's 130.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, we just went to bed at 10.45.

Keith Liberty:

We're like first off, i thought for sure. It was like oh well, here we go, i'm gonna see 5.530 and we're gonna pump this up and that'll get us to the time we get up and nope, 130. So thereafter, every one and a half to two hours, we would wake up collapsed and uncomfortable.

Alli Liberty:

I wanted to kill you because here's the deal. I have air on my side.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, of course you do. This fucking tub of lube over here is fucking flat out. Just done ski okay.

Alli Liberty:

And I do recall that the scenario was let me guess you have to air it up again.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, yeah, it was such a worrisome, troubling event for you.

Alli Liberty:

It was because I had to get up. you have to crawl out of the bed The way we were we had to, like go backwards to get out.

Keith Liberty:

It was, oh my God, because we were downhill, okay. So Like with the nose bleed.

Alli Liberty:

Here's another scenario for you. It had been raining here in Maine for a long ass time, okay, so the grass wet, everybody's getting stuck pulling big, using the big tractor to pull out our. It's like it's a mess. It's literally a mess. So we originally are we put our feet in like the slope area so that we don't wake up with a nose bleed, and that just didn't work out because getting out of bed was impossible, like impossible. So we turned our head around so that we could just wickle our way out. Ugh, misery.

Keith Liberty:

Every hour and a half, every two hours, getting up doing that. That theme continued for the entire weekend.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, because this is Friday. remember, This is only Friday.

Keith Liberty:

There's a slow leak somewhere that we just have not identified. But man, fucking miserable, sleep right. And then you factor in like the humidity and the heat, and if you get to Saturday night we're sleeping with massive sunburns at this point. So you know like it's not good, right.

Alli Liberty:

Not a good scenario.

Keith Liberty:

I'm gonna fast forward to this part of the story real quick because, seeing how we're on our pain and suffering portion of the show, we always get a massive burn there in general and always in awkward spots, and this year was no different. Sunday when we packed up, we were on it Like we were doing a good job, we were being pretty efficient, but by the end of it it had become the worst pack up experience of my life because I was so done. My face felt like microwavable bacon, like oh my God, i love that bacon. Yeah, but not what it's on your face, i'm telling you.

Alli Liberty:

This is true.

Keith Liberty:

Dude, and I could see you. You were blistering in some awkward spots. My kneecaps, Dude, I was so uncomfortable. I remember I had to change before driving home but, it was to the point where you're like I don't know if I can continue to function Like it was. it was that bad.

Alli Liberty:

I'm about to pass out.

Keith Liberty:

Yes.

Alli Liberty:

Like we have a box fan or some sort of fan in the tent with all the walls down that we're walking by and like blowing air in our face, because it's like I'm about to pass out, like I'm I'm done.

Keith Liberty:

I'm the actual tent down. Oh fuck, fucking brutal. I mean. I mean you're trying to lower the ambulance up and The misery. Absolutely miserable. So bad that when we were probably what 20 minutes from home You're like, I think I'm gonna throw up.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, my mouth started to water. I literally just felt so icky. It was so bad that I literally got home, ran up the stairs because I was like I'm gonna vomit everywhere And I'm not trying to do that in the yard because my stupid bulldogs would eat it, so. So I run up the stairs and I'm like standing by the toilet, like I'm like hovering, and I'm like, okay, i'm either like I'm that type of girl, like I'm gonna either like abort mission, and I'm gonna touch my punching bag with my finger and we're just gonna move this process along, because I don't want to feel Like this for a long time on the speed back.

Keith Liberty:

See you later. Nothing happens nothing happens.

Alli Liberty:

So I'm like all right, whatever, like I'm sticky again. We haven't had a shower in Like a couple of days, so I'm like all right, I'm gonna jump in the shower, use some cold water. As soon as I jump in that shower and that cold water hits the back of my neck, fucking projectile Everywhere.

Keith Liberty:

I think the sound effects maybe not needed. Sorry, but So bad. I'm glad I was outside for all this.

Alli Liberty:

Oh, so bad. I literally get out of the shower and I feel like a million bucks, like I'm like great, that's, that's, i'm good, i'm good. I grab one of your I Was gonna say large t-shirts, but watch the way you phrase that I. Grab one of your t-shirts, because to me it's oversized and it's not My most families.

Keith Liberty:

It's oversized okay.

Alli Liberty:

And I just put on like some shorts because I'm like I don't want things by some short to me my friggin underwear. Okay, it is what it is Okay. Yeah, it is what it is. They're comfortable. Leave me alone. I'm sunburnt and I have. What is they called?

Keith Liberty:

I'm gonna say heat stroke. It's heat stroke. Yeah, it's been. It's been an uphill climb just since the event because both of us are rather loopy.

Alli Liberty:

Still trying to catch up from this week Focus the total lack of sleep.

Keith Liberty:

When you blend it into the other 11-day stretch We had, and then you just factor in no asleep and the sun and all those conditions And then you start gearing up for what to come It's. It really makes you understand that okay, this is the reason why we're struggling, but yeah, that's, that's the negative of the scenario. But I want to get to the reason why we're there and the reason why we care, the reason why we continue to go back and forth, because not every decision we make, not every event we take on, is For the numbers. It's not all for the money or the amount of people that's gonna be there. Some events We just want to be there because we feel like we need to be there. It's just something that we really want to be a part of, and this is one of those events. The Haley Lynn Cummings Memorial Barrel Race Is an event that we just feel connected to. It's a it's a special event and it's a special group of people. Now, we never had the pleasure of actually meeting Haley. We've heard a lot of great stories about Haley, but Haley's a young woman that passed away at the young age of 18 back in 2015, and Along the way in, in our horse adventures that we've we've been on and getting to know barb powers, we got to know Jamie pocket, and Jamie is Haley's mother and that just kind of branched out from there for us, and this is the eighth annual year that they've been putting on Haley's race, and it really comes down to What Haley and Jamie talked about, that if they were going to host a barrel race, what they would want to have happen. And how they would want those things to be. So these are basically Haley's ideas and wishes coming to life, because Jamie's putting a plan to action and then she has this amazing support group behind her. That's that's pulling all this off right. There's some amazing people there that we've gotten to meet along the way, but Jamie and Hardy, the parents of of Haley, they've been keeping her memory strong and and making sure that her legacy lives on and We've been so, so excited about being there. If you guys want to learn more about Haley and you want to learn more about this event, we have two other full episodes where we discuss this. If you go all the way back to episode 51, the name of that episode is it's always the right thing to do the right thing, episode 51. That's our first time being there. It's our first time kind of getting to know everybody. And then, if you go to last year's episode, number 103, trust your tribe. It really talks about the support group that that is there, that that is pulling and really trying to keep Haley's memory alive and her legacy, to make sure that it let it lives on. So There's some great people there man Between Jamie and Mark and Hardy and Devin and Chelsea and the Fortons and everybody else, the Emmons, all the people that we've met along the way, nick, all these, all these people, right?

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, just just the whole family.

Keith Liberty:

you get to know volunteers, defenders, everybody, from start to finish, is phenomenal, it's unbelievable, and it's crazy to think how many people Support us after after this, when we're just there to Support them you know, like we're there to support them. We showed up, you know, three years ago, and wanted to provide entertainment, to give them a release, to give them a break.

Alli Liberty:

You know we showed up three years ago because everybody told us we had to be there. Yeah, and we're like alright, let's see what this is about. like, we're very big about Learning where people feel that we need to be like, because people have been to these events and they see what we have and they see What we have to offer. so, listening to the people Like you need to be here, like they weren't lying, like when we, the moment we got there, we felt like family and we didn't even know Haley, we didn't know Jamie from you know Dick, down the street We had maybe crossed paths because of Barb powers and Barb just kept telling us like you got to be there, you got to be there. She was adamant about it. Seriously, yeah, you know that's this.

Keith Liberty:

This is where you need to be. Yeah the right fit for you guys like you know these, you push for your people, yeah and Over the course of the years we've I really feel almost like that, that we know Haley.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, that's one of the incredible things and I think that's the biggest testament to anybody That has put all the effort forward to keep this event going.

Alli Liberty:

Mm-hmm, because you're doing a phenomenal job.

Keith Liberty:

Yes, if you, if you happen to be listening to this episode, or if you're somebody that knows, someone that volunteers there or as a part of this, this cause, please let them know that The memory of this young girl taken far too soon lives on in complete strangers that never had the opportunity to meet her, because You guys are so passionate and you're so convinced in in the cause right, and we've learned so many things about her Between. Like this young girl, grad, made herself, graduate high school early So she could start college early at the age of 18, she was already a sophomore in college, like, and you know, you hear everybody talk about how Gifted of an equine athlete She was, how talented she was, all the championships, all those things. You hear all these messages and those are all great things, but it's about the person and the drive, like the morals and the ethics that you learn, that makes the difference you know So it just makes us really want to be there and it's, it's, it's such a special thing.

Alli Liberty:

I actually saw a post from Chelsea She made. She actually also didn't know, Haley but I didn't either. But she is so passionate about, she's a volunteer and she's in the booth and she does all these things leading up to the event.

Keith Liberty:

She's got a husband on the booth this year.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, and like pushing for vendors, posting about the vendors, like she's so involved that you would have thought That she was like Haley's best friend, like literally like, and the amount of compassion that she just pours into this entire event, like and I saw her post Just the other day and it was like I didn't have the ability to meet you But you know, like this is all for you and I was like, oh my god like it's.

Keith Liberty:

It's powerful man And, you think, absolutely like our friends Marina and Elena like they both posted about like we never met you, you know it's. It's such a special event and and. We've got to know some great people because of it, and There's actually a message that I have held on to That I've saved since our first time being there after the first time that we were At Silver Spur I think it must have been the following Monday or Tuesday I got a message from Jamie, from Haley's mom.

Alli Liberty:

I remember you talking about that.

Keith Liberty:

I saved that message and it's something that Reminds me Why we do what we do and why we continue to go back and it just made me feel so much more connected to the cause and her message was. I'm not sure where you you and Ali came from or how you ended up in my small circle, but I am so grateful to have met you both. You are the kind of people my daughter would have been friends with. I know that for a fact. She was a caring, giving person with a heart of gold, exactly like you both are. I'm only even thank you is loud and proud Yeah man, that message is three years old. I still, i still, tear up reading that message, right, that's. That's why you do it right, right exactly that's why All the things that you would normally complain about, you know We laugh about right getting up every hour, throwing up in the shower, all these things right. Yeah, it's all, because Somewhere deep down inside I'm brutally convinced that we would have been friends with Haley.

Alli Liberty:

Oh, 100%, i agree, i could. I can picture her, you know, coming into our tent and wanting one of everything. Yeah you know, just forming that connection like Absolutely 100%.

Keith Liberty:

It's one of those things where you feel like We would be even closer to Jamie and all of them because of Haley, like you just know that, that we would line up, that we would be connected, and for Jamie to reach out and say that it just means something. Yeah, also also special to us and it's all the reason why Why we're there and it's all the reason why we're Brutally defensive of the cause and and the people and I'm so. We're gonna be heading down that road here and a little bit about how Defensive we get, and I just think that it Really connects all of us. So before. I get into that story. I just want to say to anybody listening, to anybody that knows, anybody that's involved with this event Thank you. Thank you for sure, thank you so much for Keeping this event going, keeping her memory strong, making sure her legacy lives on. She's impacted and touched two complete strangers and and we've shared her message For the past three years on this podcast, hoping that it continues to grow, because that's all you could really hope for in life is to You know, have your, your legacy live on after you're gone.

Alli Liberty:

Mm-hmm exactly.

Keith Liberty:

We're doing our part in that and that's because of all of the hard work of her friends, her family And all the people that have come along the way over the past eight years and never even Got to meet her right. But they're just so in love with her memory and message that they just continue to pour into it.

Alli Liberty:

Absolutely, and I think that it's also important to say that You know each and every one of the volunteers that just open up their hearts and open up their arms and welcome anyone and everyone, from Wherever, like you don't need an invitation to show up like there are people from Everywhere that are showing up just to be there a part of of the event. I mean, what was it like the first year? that lady that came from Tennessee and she now lives in Kenny bomb.

Keith Liberty:

Oh, yeah, like wild, like.

Alli Liberty:

I still talk to her on the regular, like you know. She'll check in with me, has a horse, you know, whatever, and it's just it's that word of mouth that has gotten out and her message has just been spread Everywhere. Hey, i'm having this barrel race in memory of my daughter or a friend, or you know, this is Haley like. I think, you should be here, and Yeah, i mean it is. Let's just put into perspective It is a barrel race and there is money on the line, but nobody is there, cutthroat like it is at any other. Barrel race. Like I've never had the opportunity to ride At this event One day I would love to. I would love to be a part of that. I have road at Silver spur and it's a great arena. It's an absolutely.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, just in general. When you put this, you sprinkle this event on it and I think it just goes to a whole new level, absolutely.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah. So I just think that Everybody across the board, from you know us, like not knowing her, to people who did know her, are doing such an amazing job at just spreading the word and I can't imagine how difficult it is for Everyone that was close to her you know, in the family and I Have to imagine that you relive so many things during this weekend.

Keith Liberty:

Mm-hmm but you're also comforted by her memory you know and, and I'm sure they get together and share stories and memories and and and really celebrate her and her life, because That's what we're all there for. But you just think about how difficult it has to be for all of them. Yeah, you know and it just adds a whole another layer of appreciation on the weekend.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, i think it's always amazing that Hardy, her dad, starts by Doing a memorial ceremony when he comes out with a flag phenomenal phenomenal. Like her picture is, a Barrel racing is on a flag, and they do that with the American flag as well, and you know they run around the arena And I post a video of that on our, on our social channels if you wanted to take a look at that And I know you've done a long one a few years ago, but every year, though, it had it always. Like warms my heart that Hardy is the first one in the arena. Yeah, every year and I don't know if you remember, but a couple of years ago I think it was our first year Jamie ran and all of a sudden she hadn't even got to the timer yet And it tripped right and then it stopped, and Just randomly stopped, and everybody just like you heard it like across the arena, like oh like She was there. Yeah, she was there to be a part of her mom's run, and that was just like. So I open.

Keith Liberty:

There's no way that she's not there all weekend.

Alli Liberty:

Oh yeah, absolutely No.

Keith Liberty:

I'm sure everybody, everybody there, has to feel that.

Alli Liberty:

There's no way that they don't yeah.

Keith Liberty:

So the elephant in the room that I think we need to discuss at this point would be Saturday evening.

Alli Liberty:

Mm-hmm.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, so Saturday evening, our turn to entertain the people. I guess we could also maybe set the scene that Saturday was hot, it was muggy, it was rainy, you know, it was kind of overcast overcast that's where the majority of the Sun burns kind of came in, and So Saturday evening we're trying to see if, if the rain's gonna hold off, if we're gonna DJ, if we're gonna do all those things. And Thankfully it did, man, everything, everything held off. We were able to get in. We needed to do so. We went over and set up. It was so hot when I was setting up I was, i literally needed a change, but we were kind of running late. It was that. It was that I was that sweaty. Okay, i was sweaty. But what's cool is the Fortin set up like a cornhole tournament and it started off where there was nobody around but We just kept calling people out and before it was, you know, deadline time, all the cornhole y'all came out of the crowd.

Alli Liberty:

Okay, I think we played. What? three rounds?

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, they did two rounds for money and I know the first one was sold out. They I mean it was it's like a pretty good turnout. It was more cornhole people than I remember the past two years because there was five boards.

Alli Liberty:

I think there was five boards.

Keith Liberty:

Was there. I know, i think so It was bag tossing as far as the eye could see, for me Yeah. Okay, From the stage there was a lot of bag tossing.

Alli Liberty:

Oh, actually, you know what? I took a picture of it.

Keith Liberty:

Okay, so teams of two, obviously. So there's a good group of people all lined up throwing beanbags around And to start the night off, i try to play music that is drinking music, right Mood setting music and things that I think people can just be happy to reminisce, to sing along, enjoy themselves and crush beers. That's kind of my mantra to start things off. I usually start off, i know for a fact. I started that night off with Jelly Roll and Lanny Wilson because, that's one of my calling cards. I'd like to do that. You all know my kinship and man crush for the Jelly Roll, so we put in some mashups and things like that and then it literally is request right. And there there's such a diverse group because we have a bunch of the youngins that like their requests right. Noel and PJ's kids come up and they Oh, my God, they're the cutest.

Alli Liberty:

Right, so They're probably like three and six, three and five.

Keith Liberty:

I think she was five. I think the youngest is five. Oh, okay, i had this conversation when I walked her back to camp. I think she was five. Oh, that's right, that sounds creepy. Hey, soul sisters, like one of their jams and that seven-year-old song. So, anyways, they have a request of tunes. I know they're set list So I play their songs, but everybody's requesting songs. Henry wants to leave Bryce all these kids are coming up. I wanted stuff and then adults are throwing in there two cents and then people will be like I want some old school stuff. I want to shake my booty a little bit. So it's a pretty eclectic blend of tunes but something for everybody.

Alli Liberty:

Linne on the classics like let's do the Macarena and let's do the Got Night.

Keith Liberty:

Joe, Yeah, we did Cha Cha Slide and all that stuff by the end of the night. So it's basically filling a request and then trying to navigate things in there that I think fit and really just kind of mesh the evening. So if I get a list of requests, what I try to do is group them together. Obviously I try to put things in by beats per minute, so they're kind of similar. but when you're doing this type of function, it's not like I'm trying to keep people on the dance floor the whole time, so I don't need to make them super smooth until it's later in the night when everybody is dancing. So anyways, I'm really just navigating requests and I'm trying to say like, all right, if I have six requests up here and three of them are hip hop and two of them are country and one's classic rock, I'm gonna group them together. I'm not just gonna go from hip hop to classic rock, to country, back to hip hop, I'm gonna make sense of it all right So. I'm doing my thing. I don't know what time in the evening this happens to be, but we started at 6.30, 6.30, yeah, yeah, 45.

Alli Liberty:

It was before 6.45.

Keith Liberty:

I was sound checking just past six.

Alli Liberty:

No, i know, but I'm saying like when everybody started to come down, like Yeah, 6.45 was corn whole time I think Right, right, that's what I'm saying.

Keith Liberty:

So I mean, or maybe shoot an hour and a half two hours in or something, people will come up on stage and ask requests and stuff. It's kind of hard to hear up there. But I turned around and there was a lady literally just throwing death daggers through my soul with her eyeballs, right.

Alli Liberty:

I had gone back to the ambulance at that point Yeah so I'm a customer of this.

Keith Liberty:

A lot of people, i mean some people, just don't like what you're playing. They're just offended And I remember at this, right before this happened, actually I was playing a hip hop song of some sort and a young kid requested Wobble.

Alli Liberty:

remember, that So.

Keith Liberty:

I played Wobble for that kid and I played like Usher and Little John or something And clearly this song selection she wasn't a fan of right.

Alli Liberty:

Which.

Keith Liberty:

I get that in places And I just try to explain to somebody, like I do everybody.

Alli Liberty:

hey, man, I'm just taking requests up here, I'm just playing for everybody, you know, because there was five boards of Cornhole, two teams, and so there's like quite a bit of people around, and then there's also like a crew of people that's not playing Cornhole, that's waiting their turn for the second round and people mingling there for the DJ. So there's like let's just say you've got 20 people playing Cornhole.

Keith Liberty:

You've got 10 or 20 waiting, you've got, you know you have a good selection of people 10 or 15 sitting around just drinking beers and hanging out, i mean, and then there's kids gathering around, so there's a pretty good group of people, right, and you know, this is really what we're accustomed to for how these events start. So, anyways, this lady is just throwing death daggers at me And it's hard to hear up there and it's hard to see with the lights, like the way they are. But I don't remember word for word, but she really just snapped at me and had this overall tone of not so in so many words, kind of like why the fuck are you playing this? I don't want to listen to this, right. But her approach to me was like along the lines of are you capable of playing country music? And I was like, excuse me, like you play country music? and I was like yeah you want to hear some country. And she's like made some comment about like what I was playing and being over it And I said, well, yeah, i mean I've been playing country music all night. Like I mean, literally almost the first hour was country music And I was like I'm doing all requests up here And if you noticed, i'll do you know 10 to 20 minutes of each genre And then I'll just keep bouncing around between hip hop and country and rock. I'm trying to explain it to her And she just cuts me off, like basically, like I don't give a fuck, just play country music, right. So, she gives me this attitude, her approach, her tone and everything was so I don't know how to put it like rude and over the top that the people that were sitting on the stage listening to music all turned around and stared at her during this interaction we were having. They knew that this lady was being a Karen at this point Out of line, right, and I took it and was like sure, no problem, right. And now I'll get to some country music.

Alli Liberty:

She really just needed to heal. Yeah, yeah, exactly.

Keith Liberty:

So she had a couple. You know, i had a couple of the requests. I navigated through those and she wanted country music, so I made the switch to country music.

Alli Liberty:

And at that I think this is when I came back.

Keith Liberty:

At that time one younger fellow came up and actually asked me for a Travis Tritt. I forgot which Travis Tritt song it was, But anyway, she requested a Travis Tritt song.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, he asked for old school.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah. So I played Travis Tritt and the crowd was really enjoying the Travis Tritt So I was like, all right, i'm gonna stay on Tritt for a. I'm gonna do a double shot at Tritt right here because these guys enjoyed it, and here's one of my favorite Travis Tritt tunes. Here you go. And then, right then, the guys in front of us a couple in front of us that actually were talking was about doing their wedding and stuff, and they were the ones that noticed the interaction, Interaction right, they asked for Tracy Bird.

Alli Liberty:

Correct So.

Keith Liberty:

I put Tracy Bird on and everybody started slow dancing. I actually jumped off the stage and I slow danced with you, that's right.

Alli Liberty:

Right.

Keith Liberty:

Yep. So we slow danced. everybody was enjoying it themselves, so I double dipped on slow dances And people were getting all lovey dovey.

Alli Liberty:

That couple in front of us asked for another slow song After you played that Tracy Bird song And I put on Shannon Dohert Two Dozen Roses.

Keith Liberty:

We were all having a vibe man.

Alli Liberty:

There was probably like five or six of us out there slow dancing in the middle of a field Like five or six couples middle of the field slow dancing. I reminded me of Texas. Like it was, like I was, like I was here for you.

Keith Liberty:

Everybody was grooving. This is what we're hoped for, and people are still playing at this time, but everybody's mingling And it's dark at this point, it's dark.

Alli Liberty:

But this is the mood and the jive that we're looking for, you know, and I'm really happy with the way things are going.

Keith Liberty:

man, Everybody's having a great time. People were tipping me. One guy gave me 20 bucks.

Alli Liberty:

The little girls.

Keith Liberty:

The girls each gave me five bucks. So the point I'm making here is like there was a mood, There was an atmosphere.

Alli Liberty:

Everybody was enjoying themselves. And you're really good at judging the crowd. Like what does the crowd want? Like how's everything working? Like is this song keeping people up there?

Keith Liberty:

Like you're very good at judging the character of the room, that's one of the things I try to pride myself on, because I'm not your prototypical DJ, so my whole thing is I try to play on mood and to make sure that the atmosphere is right. Everybody's having a good time.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, checking the temperature of the room, you might guess wrong.

Keith Liberty:

Sometimes I might play some songs that dud, but you try to get out of them and figure it out and then you know where not to go. But if I've ever been in a setting where I didn't test the waters, you stay in a lane, you're staying a rut.

Alli Liberty:

That doesn't work.

Keith Liberty:

Cause every once in a while you'll be somewhere and you're like man. I don't think they're ready for this. Like you know, salt and pepper.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, you'll check with me like a couple of times And I'd be like nah, i don't know.

Keith Liberty:

The thing is when you don't throw that in there. Sometimes you throw it in there and then the place just erupts And then you're like, okay, this is where I need to be, and anyways, i thought we were in a good lane, a good groove everybody was enjoying themselves. I went back on stage and then that lady was right behind me.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, i had seen her headed your way, but this is the first time that I had seen her interaction and people had been coming up to you all like all night, so I didn't really pay any mind. But I did see her come up and immediately, like I instantly, like the hair on the back of my neck stood up before, like I, just I just had a weird vibe, like I was like I don't like that, it's weird because she wasn't even in the area.

Keith Liberty:

Like the way this is set up there's a stage, there's a big open field and there's campers, like you know, and horse trailers all around.

Alli Liberty:

From here to.

Keith Liberty:

Sokko. Yeah, so there she's a ways away. She's a couple of hundred yards away. My speakers obviously filled the whole camp down right, of course of course, but what's interesting is when she would make a request, she had a lantern and she would storm off and walk all the way back to camp. She would never stay there, for any other request And I'm catering to the people that are there And I'm not gonna dismiss you. I'll get to your stuff.

Alli Liberty:

And I can see from a distance where she's coming from. Like I can see that you know. They're all sitting outside in lawn chairs.

Keith Liberty:

I couldn't even see that from where I was at.

Alli Liberty:

I could. From where we were, from where I was sitting, there was like a circle of lawn chairs, but it was like up on the hill, You know what I mean Like so far away that like Comes down and join us.

Keith Liberty:

And if you, literally if you're in the area, I can see you. If I can tell that you're not into something, I'll get out of it, But everybody that's there is into it. And if you're over there and then you're telling me like this really isn't for me, I'll find something that I feel like is a medium for everyone.

Alli Liberty:

But also at that point, we're not playing for you. No, we're not playing for you if you're on the hill. We're playing for who's right there in front of the stage using the cornhole boards, who's within you know reason.

Keith Liberty:

Here's the thing in my philosophy and my feeling on this is it's about all of us being together. It's about everybody enjoying themselves, spending time together, right Like we've gone through COVID people. We know what it's like to be stuck in our houses. We know what it's like to crave attention and affection and interaction with people Like we're here celebrating Haley and this whole family's here. Everybody's here. Let's have a good time. Like a lot of hard work's gone into this. Everybody's trying to unwind and unplug. A lot of these people that are there are volunteers.

Alli Liberty:

All the volunteers are down there having a good time, just letting loose.

Keith Liberty:

Just come down, just be a part of it. But anyways, i turn around and she's right in my face and she literally is kind of on corking on me before I can even get close enough to hear what she's saying, because the speakers are right there. And as I get closer she's like like well, clearly you're playing country music, but this isn't like what I asked for. And I was like I mean, you asked me for country music. And she's like this is old country music. Can you not play modern country music? And she just had this sass and was really just kind of giving it to me And, like I said, i can't hear all of it, but I can fucking read your tone and your body language. You can read your mean mug, karen, and at the same time, i can feel people around the stage staring at us Like they know she's coming at me right now And she's basically just, in so many words, accusing me of not knowing what the fuck I'm doing And that I fucking asked for country music and to defy me basically by her approach. I'm playing country music, but I'm playing old country music in an attempt to piss her off. Lady, you are way too into yourself.

Alli Liberty:

Well, huh, it's not about you.

Keith Liberty:

No, no, and I was like listen. You asked me for country music and she's like this is not what I want for country music. And I said, oh, i'm sorry, but he requested Travis Tripp, they requested Tracy Bird, they requested whatever.

Alli Liberty:

So I was like I'm explaining to her you know.

Keith Liberty:

And she's like No, this isn't what I want. And I said well, can you tell me what you would like? And she's like no, just play Modern Country. And I said no, you already asked me to play Country And I've played it, but it's not what you want. She's like can you not play Morgan Wallin if you never played Morgan Wallin in Jelly Roll? And I said okay, the first song I played Tied is Jelly Roll, and I'm not kidding you when I can tell you that I've played at this time their minimum five Morgan Wallin songs. But by the end of the night I played at least 10 Morgan. Wallin songs I can go through my play history on this, because I also play regular Morgan Wallin and I play mashup Morgan Wallin with. Warren G with you know freakin' Michael Jackson, because I don't wanna play all. Everybody loves Morgan Wallin, but if I play 10 tracks off of one of his albums they're just gonna be like what the fuck is this guy doing? But if I can sprinkle Morgan Wallin in with different beats I feel like it helps And everybody. Just they get bigger what they want, right.

Alli Liberty:

But not for nothing. But we had already listened to the entire new Morgan Wallin CD track during the race. Like all day the Morgan Wallin new track had been on there. People were setting up, Yeah so it's like you've already heard it all day.

Keith Liberty:

Anyways, this lady really just gives it to me and she storms off with her lantern.

Alli Liberty:

Meanwhile I'm sitting on the edge of the stage mean mugging like it is my job.

Keith Liberty:

Well, i had the folks in front of me be like, like you okay, Yeah, you're all right.

Alli Liberty:

Like you're all right, What was that? I'm like it's okay.

Keith Liberty:

And I had somebody else come over to the stage and was like what was that man? Are you everything all good Yeah and then I asked. I said I was like well, i mean, this lady's been just fucking grilling me right, and then I had followed up with.

Alli Liberty:

Did she just ask for a request? And you said, yeah, she's been grilling me all night. And I said, well, absolutely not, we're not gonna play her stuff She's. I'm watching her walk up to her camper right now Like that's not gonna happen. We're catering to these people down here. I said don't play it.

Keith Liberty:

I said don't play her song At this moment. we're like shoot 15, 20 minutes or so, maybe 20 minutes or so from cutting the before on audio.

Alli Liberty:

I think we actually had a half an hour. I think we were yeah, Cause we played a handful of songs after that. I still play in Cornhole after that.

Keith Liberty:

No, after this, when this whole thing goes down, i know that we don't have much more time left, because I know what I need to get through. I know that they want Cha-Cha slide. I know there's been requests for Barrel Racer Land. There was requests for Dick Down in Dallas. There was all these requests that were already lined up, and so I already know and I can look at my list, cause somebody else came in and asked for something princess, petty princess, something And I couldn't get to it because I already had too many things on my list When I was looking at the tracks and the time and realizing I'm trying to end this with respect to the neighbors right And Jamie gave me the orders on when to end it. So I want to get in these requests, but I'm like, all right, If she doesn't think that I'm playing her songs, I'm gonna play them. And I played. I was actually playing a modern country song, cause I was playing Luke Coombs the kind of love we make, which is right in that same lane when you're complaining to me about what I'm not playing modern country, And so I mean everybody around was keyed into the situation Correct?

Alli Liberty:

And they were like telling, being like fuck her.

Keith Liberty:

But I said I'm gonna play Morgan Wallin. But you know what, when I play Morgan Wallin, to make it known, i went on the microphone and said to the lady out back that doesn't think I'm doing my job. Here's my 10th Morgan Wallin song tonight And I put Morgan on And that's when, apparently, things shifted. You want to give me your point of view from this part of the story?

Alli Liberty:

Yeah. So I'm sitting on the stage and I'm jamming out And all of a sudden I can see said lantern and green jacket coming up over the hill, be lining right for the stage, and I was like here we go, here we go, and I didn't know the dynamic, i didn't know what was happening. So I just sat on the stage, drank my beer The same lady that had been reaming you a new asshole and one other lady came down directly in front of me, in front of the stage, and started dancing. And at this point I had been drinking and it's fine, it's okay to drink and let loose, but I had simply said to her thanks for joining us. That, apparently, was the wrong thing to say to Karen? Wrong thing to say, apparently, to Karen because she got in my face and said what the fuck did you just say? And I said thanks for joining us, because you've been making requests and you stormed off like a child therefore, that's why we're just now playing your songs, like that's why. And so she got in my face and was like fuck you.

Keith Liberty:

I was like I could see this. I'm like working and I can see this kind of taken off in my left mirror here okay. I could kind of see it taken off. And then the younger girl that was with her. I saw her escalate it and jump on your face.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, so she had stepped towards me. Mind you, this is so bad. This is so bad, but I'm just gonna put this out there Because this is the trauma response in me. Okay, i am standing shoulder-width apart and I instantly take my right foot and put it behind my left foot, as if to be in a fighting stance. I am prepared, ready to rip this girl's face off if I have to. So bad, so bad, but just a trauma response. Instantly, i just like, i prepare myself, like I square myself up and I was like all right, girl, you wanna get in my face? Like she is yelling in my face.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, she was coming on, correc. she was pushing for a fight at this point for sure.

Alli Liberty:

Yep, and I was like you're not gonna yell at me, like we're simply here for one reason, one reason only That's where Hayley's Memorial. I said, and we're simply taking requests based on the people that are down here. And she started yelling at me, telling me that you've been playing slow song after slow song, and I was like, no, ma'am, that's where you're wrong, like that's not the case at all.

Keith Liberty:

I said A lot of people argue about song selection Literally, i don't even fucking know.

Alli Liberty:

But I'm like, okay, cool, cool, yep. And so the other, the older lady, starts yelling at me, telling me not to yell at her, the younger girl And I was like, ma'am, do you not see this whole scenario? Like what's going down? And so she tells me not to yell at her And I was like, are y'all done here? Like, are you done here? Like, move along, move along. And she looked at me and she was like why don't you back up? And I looked at her, dead in her face, and I said, ma'am, i don't back down to no one. And then at that moment I locked eyes with that older lady and that younger girl And I said I'm not going nowhere. So the older lady looked at the younger girl and was like it's not worth it. And I was like you're right, move along.

Keith Liberty:

Before this little ensemble ended, the last thing that I really heard was you say we're all here for the same reason Correct multiple times. So one of the times I heard you say we're all here for the same reason, i knew that this is getting number one, this is getting escalated right And in my head I'm thinking like okay, here we go, like there's gonna be a fight here.

Alli Liberty:

Where is the pit bull?

Keith Liberty:

We're gonna be packing up here shortly. Like you know, it's been too long of a day to leave this late. But like when I heard you say we're all here for the same reason, like it just snapped in me, something snapped where I was like you're fucking right, man, this is a memorial benefit. And like you're up here, like wanting to throw hands and to be in your face over this, over a song selection Correct, when your drunk ass would pay attention. I've played all the stuff you've been asking for all damn night, along with everything else that people in the crowd have asked for, which. It's moments like this that make me feel like you know what? I should just sell all my DJ equipment, because there's always some jackass that you have to fucking deal with. That ruins it when you have so many people tell you like, hey, man, I really enjoyed it. Like you know, can I hire you for this event? It all gets washed away by one Karen, by one Kevin. Right No offense to the Kevin's. I know, kevin, we love you. Kevin, i love you. My apologies, but there's always somebody right. So when I heard you say we're all here for the same reason, i instantly turned the music just about off.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, I didn't even hear the music the entire time. this lady was like yelling at me Like I was straight black out mode.

Keith Liberty:

Like I was like.

Alli Liberty:

I'ma hurt someone.

Keith Liberty:

I knew this was going down And those were like the key words. That was like okay. So I turned the music off and I literally got over the microphone and said which is going over the entire field. Yeah, this goes to the entire site. I said if you don't stop yelling, if you don't stop fucking yelling at my wife, i will end this entire party right fucking now.

Alli Liberty:

And at that point.

Keith Liberty:

If you didn't know, you knew. Oh, you knew. So that whole crowd that it was that had assembled and was dancing, they all went over.

Alli Liberty:

Yep.

Keith Liberty:

When they were all going over the situation. that's when those two were like it ain't worth it, right, because?

Alli Liberty:

they all stood right next to me, like. they all stood like almost like a semi circle.

Keith Liberty:

A whole group came to you.

Alli Liberty:

Right there. They stood right there, because they also heard what I said They heard it all.

Keith Liberty:

yeah.

Alli Liberty:

They heard that we're all there for the same reason. We're not here for the drama. We're not here to fight. If I have to, I will, but I'm not trying to. You know what I mean. Like, I'm simply number one. Let's just put this into perspective. I don't care who you are, I don't care if you're 350 in a mail or you're a buck 05 and you're a female.

Keith Liberty:

Okay, they just came at me for that. No, i didn't, yeah, yeah.

Alli Liberty:

I will go toe to toe to you over my husband. I'm a ride or die. I don't care if I have to throw down and I leave with the black eye. It's all worth it.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah.

Alli Liberty:

Because that's my everything And the fact that we're all there for the same reason and he's not gonna hit you. You're a female. I will, though. Yeah, i will.

Keith Liberty:

It's funny. this conversation is gonna go on a couple of ways. real quick, before we take it too long, I wanna put two things out there. Number one at this time we're on the cost of our anniversary, right? Mm-hmm? When we woke up on Sunday, it was our anniversary.

Alli Liberty:

Yep.

Keith Liberty:

And it's kind of fitting because, right, wrong or indifferent, we're both ready at the jump to support each other, defend each other, right, absolutely. So two things happened here. Mm-hmm, you knew that that lady was giving me a hard time. Yep, when she was coming towards me, you put yourself in there to diffuse it.

Alli Liberty:

Mm-hmm.

Keith Liberty:

And after that diffusal, they took it apparently as an instigation, or whatever the point is. You didn't care, you're in it to protect me, correct, right, mm-hmm. Then when I hear what you say, i put it out to the entire place, yep, because I'm making it aware that I'm here to protect you that this isn't gonna happen.

Alli Liberty:

Yep.

Keith Liberty:

So for me, that's the coolest anniversary gift we could have given each other. It's true, you have me an amazing anniversary gift. You got an actual painting of Spirit.

Alli Liberty:

Done.

Keith Liberty:

And I bought you some loud proud. American style-esque American flag, ariad Boots. Oh my God, i was in awe, but it didn't even hit me until the people in the crowd I could hear them say it and then come over to us. And that's when I was like ride or die. This makes sense Because I heard people in the crowd mean like she's just trying to protect her husband. And I had one lady come up to me and say I love the fact that she went to bat for you and the fact that you were willing to end this entire night to protect, to go to bat for your wife. So multiple people came over and said I really love the way that you guys stood your ground for each other.

Alli Liberty:

Yep.

Keith Liberty:

And I feel like, whatever the situation is in life, that more couples need to realize, right, wrong or indifferent, whatever the situation is, you're a team, you're a team, you're in it together. Even if somebody took the wrong step, we're going down together, right.

Alli Liberty:

Exactly exactly.

Keith Liberty:

I mean, we'll figure it the fuck out. Like John Wayne always said shoot first, ask questions later, that's all right. If I sense my wife in distress, i'm firing And we'll figure it out, that's all right. And I know that you're the same way. I'm too hot on the trigger though I know, and maybe we gotta dial you back a little bit, but the point is that everybody around saw the same thing. So I mean maybe if you didn't approach them and say you know, thanks for joining us, maybe nothing happens. But maybe if you don't say that, maybe they come back to the stage and start fucking yelling at me some more, or you know who knows what else happens.

Alli Liberty:

Right, and it was just a simple like. That's what this is about. Thanks for joining us. Sure, was it a snide comment? Absolutely. But the point of the matter is is that there is already 30, 40 people around dancing, asking requests. You can see, that is the Right. Come on up The vibe. Everybody here telling you not to be here, right, and there's so much open field. You could have moved your chairs down, like a little bit closer, like it was. You know what I mean. So it was more or less like you're being disrespectful by making demands and then running off like a child.

Keith Liberty:

It comes down to first off. Regardless of anything, you're rude as fuck right Entitled. You're rude, you're disrespectful and you're entitled Because at that moment all you care about is you and whatever your circle of friends are that are back there. You don't care about the fact that there's a couple lovebirds on the dance floor, like hugging each other and getting emotional. You don't care that. There's two people over here that are making a request that to me it sounds like they want that to be their fucking wedding song. Right when we're talking about weddings, literally while DJing, we're having conversations about. You know, i pushed my wedding off to that, cody. I pushed my wedding off, but when I do, i'd want you to do this.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, you don't have those interactions, Right? and?

Keith Liberty:

these guys are like oh my God, do you do weddings? We love this song. Can you play this So like you're not a part of any? of this You're taking this moment, which is what this event is about. You're taking it away from everybody because you're a self-centered shitbag, right? So that's the fundamental side of it, but I started the show off talking about support and the fact that building this brand and chasing this dream and trying to figure this out takes a lot of support. And then I'm always surprised by where that support comes from. And Saturday night I was surprised by the support that ran to us Me too, to be honest.

Alli Liberty:

And then, even after, when everything had kind of like the dust had settled and the fact that people were coming over to me like making light of it and was like Jesus Christ, i thought you were about to like throw down on that girl, like I wanted to see it, but like I got your back And I was just like like people that I didn't even know like had my back. Like I was like I didn't even know that girl like cared about me. You know what I mean. Like it was just like oh, okay, hey. Like it was like a whole different respect.

Keith Liberty:

Complete respect And in both aspects, all of aspects, yeah, so that night number one I was upset by it, upset by the fact that I'm here for a reason. Number one we're all here for a reason. Like you said many times, you're here for the same reason. My number one goal is to put a smile on everybody's face.

Alli Liberty:

That's there.

Keith Liberty:

I take it personal. if I feel like there's anybody in the crowd not having a good time, You tell me what you need. I'll find a way to get to it. I will. that's all I'm here for, man, So don't come at me sideways. And I felt like shit that there was a segment of the people that apparently weren't having a good time. That's not what I'm there for right. So When everybody backed us up on what happened on that exchange, it blew me away, because so many of those people I either met for the first time or I met a couple of years ago we only see once a year and they just had our backs. And when the dude on the microphone turns the fucking music off and threatens to kill the party, you could boo me, sure, you could yell at me, you could call me an asshole, but no, you stood ground with me and understood why And they backed you up. In the same sense, the fact that when one of the guys saw somebody else from that campsite and he got in his face and was like Yeah, local boy, yeah he's like Who we hang out with last year.

Alli Liberty:

They're only Right And they're only yep, and he called him out on it.

Keith Liberty:

Yeah, like we're not here for this shit man You guys are coming out here.

Alli Liberty:

He's like I know you're up at that campsite Like we're not here for this shit, we're all here for the same reason. Like he reciprocated what I said And the kid like backpedaled real fast and was like whoa, whoa, whoa. I don't know what you're talking about.

Keith Liberty:

And he was like fuck you. Yes, you're up there, I saw you coming.

Alli Liberty:

He was like no, no, no, no. And he was like yes, And we're not gonna have that again. And so I like tried to like deescalate that.

Keith Liberty:

Now we're on the deescalate.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, i was like all right we're not doing this, like maybe you're not with them, find whatever. It doesn't matter, it's over, we're not here for it. We're not here for the drama. We don't care for the drama, we're all here for the same reason And I just kept reciprocating that We're not here for the drama.

Keith Liberty:

Right, And I mean it was just comforting to see CJ fresh off the tractor all day, like backing us up.

Alli Liberty:

Like you know, that was not cool. Who's Jamie's?

Keith Liberty:

brother, yeah, like that's not cool.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah. So He even stopped to help us pack up and was like y'all right, yeah, right Yeah, he was hanging around to make sure we were good.

Keith Liberty:

So it was just, it was disappointing, right? Just to put it out there. It was disappointing But so encouraged by the support we had from everybody that was around us and the fact that they continued to check with us And then the next morning, not thinking about the fact that I put that out there on the speaker system- So we went out and said everybody Yeah, we were shaking bricks when I saw Jamie coming over, so you can start with that, i guess right When Jamie first come walking over to see us, we're like oh fuck, here we go, Like we're in trouble. Like we might have crossed the line.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, So Jamie comes over and she looks both of us dead in the face and was like, do I have to ask you to leave? And she can't even get it all the way out, just starts dying laughing. And she was like, yeah, i can't keep a straight face And we're like I literally I don't know about you, but in my head I was like whew. Oh man yeah, oh God.

Keith Liberty:

The last thing we wanna do is put a bad name on the event. Like I don't want that responsibility. Like I don't wanna be that guy that goes up there and gives anybody a bad experience or puts a negative just reputation on the event. When we first went there, we volunteered to entertain because we just wanted to help. So to have that question in the back of our mind that we could be a negative experience for anybody like it bothered me. So when Jamie came over and comforted us with that. That was.

Alli Liberty:

She's like I'm coming over to apologize.

Keith Liberty:

I'm like apologize? You don't need to do that.

Alli Liberty:

No, absolutely not. Like we settled the situation. She's like oh, i heard all about it from Henry, who is her son, who is there hanging out with us?

Keith Liberty:

Went to bed for us.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, and he ran back to his mom and said those people were being rude to Keith and Ally, Like, and you're like, he's like a young kid Like. You know what I mean. He doesn't know any better, He doesn't know the scenario, but he was hanging around playing cornhole and stuff like that The thing about Henry is.

Keith Liberty:

on Sunday, the hottest day of the week, he ran around hauling trash and cleaning it up.

Alli Liberty:

He's such a good kid.

Keith Liberty:

A boy was wearing black fricking car hearts and the 90 degree heat picking up and busting his ass And it's hard to find kids that are willing to work and do that these days And the fact that he stood up for us too and went to bed for us, you know, and that's his sister, this is his memory for his sister, so that's what I'm saying there. Then we have Katie walking by saying like oh, i heard last night someone to hold my baby. I'm gonna come out to That's right.

Alli Liberty:

That's right. She's like I heard it over the microphone, i'm gonna end this party And she's like hold my baby. She has a newborn, maybe like nine months, i don't know. But she was like I heard it And I said hold my baby, i'm headed out there, someone out And then the next day it was funny.

Keith Liberty:

Everybody came out.

Alli Liberty:

Everyone is asking like, oh, you're trying to kick someone's ass, like what happened? What happened?

Keith Liberty:

I mean, the thing that got me was like the volunteers, the family members that came over and apologized to us. And I said there's no need for anybody to apologize. And, like I said to everybody else, i said here's the thing it's been a difficult weekend, right? Sure, it's super hot, hot, you know, like I'm sure, if you think about it, you've been in the sun, you were dealing with the rain, everybody's drinking. I know those people in particular traveled a long ways, like there's all these elements that are out there, right, i'm sure you have your own difficulties. I'm sure there's things going on in your own life. I'm sure you know your hauling horses you're trying to ride. You're also dealing with a memorial, i get it. Everybody's emotions are probably running thin And I said to everybody that came over to apologize like hey man, shit happens.

Alli Liberty:

Yeah, it's not a big deal, it's okay, it is what it is.

Keith Liberty:

You know, and if they wanted to apologize I'm sure we would have heard that out. But I'm not gonna hold a grudge, but I don't need anybody else to apologize on their behalf. But it also shows me just the type of people that we are working with Yeah, absolutely. And it just makes you feel so much more committed to them and trying to help, and the fact that the family is going out of their way to make sure that we, you know. That we're good, Yeah, yeah they come over and apologize, just blew me away.

Alli Liberty:

I think they're, and you know, not for nothing, but when we were getting ready to leave, jamie had some really good things to say to you. When we packed up and went over to the booth and you know, she apologized again.

Keith Liberty:

Right, without any reason, to Chelsea the same way. And I said you know I hope I didn't offend anybody important around here And they said well, nobody's more important than you guys are. Yeah, that was really sweet.

Alli Liberty:

Like we don't find ourselves, like we don't look at ourselves as being top on the totem pole or middle of the totem pole in this scenario. We're brand new to you guys. We've been here for four, three years, but we just we always lend a hand if needed, and we're always there.

Keith Liberty:

It's hard to be there and not do that, because everybody else does. right, you know, like the example set from the top, that everybody's gonna volunteer, they're gonna pitch in, they're gonna do what it takes, everybody's willing to help. We've seen, you know, like accidents happen there and everybody just dive in to take their things out. So it's such a I always say community and I break it out as a common unity, and that's what. that's what it is right. Everybody's there for the same reason, the same cause. They have the same values, the same beliefs, and that part of it's refreshing. So to think that we jeopardize any of that like upset me you know, So it was just heartwarming to feel that everybody just had our back on it and they were going out of their way to apologize to us.

Alli Liberty:

I think Jamie does an amazing job when it comes to like if something happens, it's not like it doesn't spread like wildfire She handles it and squashes it and moves on.

Keith Liberty:

She had mentioned other scenarios that were handled, that we had no clue about.

Alli Liberty:

We didn't even know happened.

Keith Liberty:

Cause you wouldn't. Yeah, because they're just handled. It's just, it's taken care of. That's what shocker America. That's what leadership is okay, that's what leadership is When you're listening to this podcast. If you're a fucking manager, if you find yourself in a position of influence where you can help anybody, influence anybody that's what it's about. Man The most difficult things in management and leadership is handling conflicts, getting uncomfortable, addressing situations, handling those things. I'm gonna go off on a rant and say that's why this country is in a fucking pickle right now, Cause we don't have that type of leadership. We don't have that type of foundation, that accountability and it's nice to see it right.

Alli Liberty:

So Jamie handles for shit, that's for sure. I think it was last year, like the whole, like a whole top part of the campers site, they lost water. Like you didn't, nobody knew that except for the people who had that section. They came in, Douga Culvert fucking sent water right back up to them and was, like you all, set. Now Like what? Crazy, that's so close We were all stuck there in the same field for three days and like half of like more than half of us had no idea, because she went in, handled shit and moved on Like that's just It's just a testament to the event and the reason why it's there and the success of it. I mean, we've gone to shows that have like 25 people and it's a fucking shit show, Shit show yeah, There's 150 riders in open this weekend and then 40 youth riders and they're went off like nobody's business. If people that are listening.

Keith Liberty:

Think for a minute. Let me say there's 150 riders, that's 150 people, that's 150 horses, correct? Most of those people aren't coming alone, right? You're coming with your husband your girlfriend, your wife, your kids, whatever So take that 150 and then you double it. Are you times that you know that person by one, by two, by three, because they're all bringing someone right?

Alli Liberty:

Someone with multiple horses, Multiple horses dogs, everything right.

Keith Liberty:

Other things, all the elements of danger involved here, right, oh yeah, and I've been to events, been involved in events that have to handle 15 to 25 people and don't run nearly as fucking smooth as that.

Alli Liberty:

The only thing I can compare it to is the campground where those young kids handled the campground event.

Keith Liberty:

Where you DJed. Yeah, I gotta do that Same idea. Yeah, I gotta do that again in a few weeks. Actually Like same idea, those kids handled business. Those young kids actually crushed it. Yeah.

Alli Liberty:

They're like young kids in high school and they're just like managing this costume party and like they didn't you didn't even know shit was going down. Like you go to smaller events and you just watch the whole place crumble because there's not good leadership or management or whatnot.

Keith Liberty:

No, it definitely makes a difference. We have a lot more things I was gonna get to in this episode this week, but we are actually going way over where I expected on time here.

Alli Liberty:

Sorry, Kevin.

Keith Liberty:

So, yeah, sorry, kevin, long day on the cardio, my friend, because I really wanted to get into our schedule. I'm just gonna tell people and I can give you a little sneak preview of what's to come next week, because we came home Sunday evening and I'm currently getting ready that I will be back at Bentley Saloon, starting on Thursday, to set up. I'll be there for July 4th weekend, packing up Sunday And then on July 4th we're gonna be hauling the camper, fingers crossed, to our first fair of the year. So the schedule's getting crazy. I really wanted to dig a little bit more into the schedule and some of the difficulties that we're having, but I really feel like the direction of the episode changed a little bit when we talked about the support that we received from all the areas that we didn't even expect it And all the people that came in and purchased from us this weekend. That said, i follow you on social media, like I see you doing this. I'm proud of you for trying this. They continue to come in and support us. We made a little less money this year than we did last year, but that doesn't matter, because it's about the connections, it's about the relationships, it's about all the things that come from this experience and the memories that have been made and just continue to be blown away by all the people that support us, that volunteer. So many people have reached out. Hey, man, if you're in a pinch, like Mike reached out to me. Last was at lab during bike week when we had. MMA service. Scott, same way you need me to cover your booth. All these people that have stepped up to say these things, to offer these things. It just means so much to us And it just shows us that, with this many people pulling for us and pushing us, there's no way we're not gonna achieve what we wanna achieve.

Alli Liberty:

For sure, 100%.

Keith Liberty:

And, all things considered, I also wanna let everybody know, since how this is a business episode, or a good portion of it's been about the business. We are about to wrap up the biggest, most successful June in the history of Laos. Proud American.

Alli Liberty:

That's exciting.

Keith Liberty:

You're damn right it is, i thought. I was waiting for you to be. there was a dramatic delay there So I didn't know if you were gonna flash me or what was gonna like if you were gonna celebrate like you gotta take the bra off too if you're gonna do that, Oh sorry. Hello, yeah, i just got flashed. So the biggest June in the history of the brand. A lot of things went our way this month that helped out. We are doing a lot of financial acrobatics to make things work. We're kicking some cans down the road, but June was a much needed boost in the pantalons And I'm excited, i'm appreciative And I thank each and every one of you for that, because without you that wouldn't happen. So thank you for supporting our American dream. Now go wash Your bucket hands.

Alli Liberty:

You have done these, i bet you, you have done these, you have done these.
